Johann Georg Ruhl was born on 6 June 1765 in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1 He was baptised on 30 July 1765 in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania. The sponsors were Johan Jurg Ruhl and Rosina Schenck, his uncle and aunt.1 Johann Georg Ruhl registered for military service about 1777 and served in the Revolutionary war as a private 5th class.1 He was confirmed on 3 May 1784.1 He married Anna Rosina Bailey in 1786 in York County, Pennsylvania. She is the first cousin of Heinrich Ruhl who married Johann Georg's sister Margaretha Barbara.1 On 12 March 1787, Johann Georg Ruhl purchased land in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, consisting of 140 acres and 27 perches from Jacob and Maria Catherina Noll.1 About 1787, Johann Georg Ruhl and Anna Rosina Bailey lived in the borderland region between Codorus Township, and the Mine Run Hundred in Baltimore County.1 He obtained a land warrent for 50 acres in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1 In February 1794 Johann Georg Ruhl was a signer on the agreement for the founding of a union congregation called Steltz Union (Bethlehem) Church in New Freedom, Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1 On 24 March 1795, Philip Ruhl purchased land from Anna Rosina Bailey and Johann Georg Ruhl in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, consisting of 60 acres 127 perches, 79 acres 60 perches, and 50 acres.1 He executed a land record to give them to Philip Ruhl on 24 March 1795 in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1 In 1795, Johann Georg Ruhl and Anna Rosina Bailey lived in Mine Run Hundred, Baltimore County, Maryland.1 He registered for military service about 1812 and served as a private in the York County Militia during the war of 1812.1 He died on 15 March 1815 in Mine Run Hundred, Baltimore County, Maryland, at age 49.1 He was buried after 15 March 1815 at Steltz Union (Bethlehem) Church Cemetery in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1 He had his estate probated after 15 March 1815 in Baltimore County, Maryland.1
