Sarah Fell Bond was also known as Sarah Fell Preston.1 She was born about 1756.1 She married Barnard Preston about 1776.1 Barnard Preston and she appeared in the census in 1800 in Harford County, Maryland, listed as having in the household 1 or 2 unknown free males under 10, 1 or 2 unknown free males 10-16 (the question is which age group son Jacob fell into since he was 10), 1 unknown free male 16-26, 2 unknown free females 16-26, and 10 slaves. Also in the household were Dr. Jacob Alexander Preston and James Bond Preston.3 She died in 1841.1

Charles Francis Preston was born on 3 May 1871 in Baltimore City, Maryland.1 He was educated in 1891 at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.1 About 1901 Charles Francis Preston was awarded the Sampson Medal and the Navy Cross.1 He registered for military service about 1901 as a Captain in the US Navy, and served in the Spanish American War, Philipine Campaign, China Releift Expedition, and World War. He was a Captain in Coast Torp Force Pacific Fleet (5/23/17), in Sub Force Pacific Fleet (7/3/17), in Sub Base San Pedro Cal (10/17/17), on USS Northern Pacific (12/6/17), on USS Delaware (12/14/18), served on the Board of Inspection and Survey for the Navy Dept (8/21/19). He was awarded the Navy Cross for distinguished service as Commanding Officer of the USS Northern Pacific engaged in the hazardous duty of transporting and escorting troops and supplies to European ports through waters infested with enemy submarines and mines.1 He married Frances Metcalf on 4 September 1902.1
