Biography

Edward F. Jenkins was born in 1816.1 He was educated at Georgetown College.1 About 1830 Edward F. Jenkins was an assistant to his father in the hardware and saddlery business.1 He married Sarah Catherine Jenkins about 1836.1 About 1840 Edward F. Jenkins was an owner of a mercantile business.1 In 1855, Edward F. Jenkins erected a beautiful residence in 11th District, Baltimore County, Maryland.1 He died in August 1891 at age ~75.1

Thomas Meredith Jenkins was born about 1817. About 1840, Thomas Meredith Jenkins took orders for the priesthood and became a Jesuit missionary.1 He died of yellow fever about 1850 in South America.1

Biography

Josiah Jenkins was born about 1795. He was in Military Service in 1812 and served as a commander of a company detailed towatch the movements of the enemy. He led 3 companies on a march to North Point. The British landed and while flanking Major Jenkins, captured some of his men, who were taken as prisoners to Halifax. Francis Scott Key went on board the vessel to try arrange an exchange of prisoners, but that effort failed. However, while on that ship, he composed "The Star Spangled Banner".1 He married Elizabeth Hillen about 1815.1
