Clair H. Sterner was also known as Barb Sterner.1 He was born about 1906.1 Clair H. Sterner was a manager of the Snyder Potato Chip company, until his in-laws died in Hanover, York County, Pensylvania. His in-laws has started the company. Upon their death, the business was sold to Hanover Canning.1 Clair H. Sterner had started a branch of Snyder's Potato Chips and retained ownership of that branch after the rest of the company was sold in East Berlin, Adams County, Pennsylvania. There were legal issues with the name, and so both had to include the name of the town. Pretzels from Snyder's of Hanover are products of the sold-off portion of the business.1 He married Edith Joanne Snyder on 16 November 1925. He died about 1962.1
