Biography
Christena Werner was also known as Christena Sterner. She was also known as Christiana Werner.1 She was also known as Dinah Werner.2 She was born on 6 June 1854 in Pennsylvania.3,4 She was christened on 18 February 1855 at Fissel's (Jerusalem) Church in Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania.4 She married Elias H. Sterner on 16 August 1874. Elias H. Sterner and she appeared in the census in 1880 in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.2 She had 6 (4 still living) children in 1900.5 Elias H. Sterner and she appeared in the census in 1900 in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, listed as owning a farm without a mortgage. Earnest Sterner, Ezra Sterner, Sarah Sterner, and Alice Sterner were living in the household with their parents.5 Elias H. Sterner and Christena Werner appeared in the census in 1910 in York, York County, Pennsylvania, listed as owning a farm without a mortgage. Earnest Sterner and Alice Sterner were living in the household with their parents. Also in the household was Augustus M. Klinedinst.1 Elias H. Sterner and Christena Werner appeared in the census in 1920 in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, listed as owning a home with a mortgage. Alice Sterner was living in the household with parents. Also in the household were Esta May Klindinst and Augustus M. Klinedinst.6 Christena Werner died on 6 June 1932 in Jefferson, York County, Pennsylvania, at age 78.3 She was buried after 6 June 1932 at Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.3
