Samuel Durham, Jr, was born on 18 February 1727/28 in Bush River Lower Hundred, Baltimore County, Maryland.2 He married Ann Smithson about 1761.1 On 23 August 1774, Samuel Durham, Jr, was a member of the first grand jury in Harford County, Maryland.3 On 23 January 1775, Samuel Durham, Jr, was present at the meeting of the Harford County Committee in Harford County, Maryland.3 On 17 May 1775, Samuel Durham, Jr, was elected to attend the Provential Convention to be held in Annapolis on 22 May 1775, which was susequently postponed, as a representative for in Bush River Lower Hundred, Harford County, Maryland.3 On 26 July 1775 Samuel Durham, Jr, attended a convention of delegates from the 16 counties of Maryland as one of the 11 representatives from Harford County in Annapolis, Maryland.4 He began military service on 9 December 1775 in Captain Jacob Bond's Company of the Harford County, Maryland Militia.3 In 1775 Samuel Durham, Jr, signed the Association of Freemen for Gunpowder Neck (Gundpowder Lower Hundred.)4 On 18 March 1776, Samuel Durham, Jr, was appointed by the Committee of Observation to solicit subscriptions to the Association of the Freemen of Maryland in Bush River Lower Hundred, Harford County, Maryland.3 In 1776 Samuel Durham, Jr, was solicitor of the Association of Freemen for Bush River Lower.4 In March 1783, Samuel Durham, Jr, served on the petit jury in Harford County, Maryland.3 He died before March 1787.2

This committee decided to show their support for Boston and their disdain for King George by signing the document at the risk of their lives and fortunes. Doctor Dewet confessed he did it out of ignorance and said he wouldn't do it again.3 On 21 September 1775, John Durham was appointed by the Committee of Observation to solicit subscriptions to the Association of the Freemen of Maryland in Gunpowder Lower Hundred, Harford County, Maryland.3 In 1776, John Durham was designated to solicit subscriptions to the Association of the Freemen of Maryland in Gunpowder Lower Hundred, Harford County, Maryland.3 He died in September 1801 in Harford County, Maryland, at age 64.1

Charles Anderson was born about 1708.1 On 1 March 1724, Charles Anderson purchased land known as "Land of Promise" (200 acres) in Baltimore County, Maryland, from Obadiah Pritchard of Baltimore County, a carpenter.2 On 12 May 1725, Charles Anderson purchased land known as "Carpenter's Plain" (100 acres) in Baltimore County, Maryland, from Joshua Wood of Baltimore County, a carpenter.2 He married Grace Preston on 2 November 1726 in St. George's Parish, Baltimore, Maryland.1,3 He executed a land record to lease it to James Morgan and Eiizabeth Walker for 12 years on 14 October 1732 in Baltimore County, Maryland.2 On 4 November 1737 Charles Anderson was a carpenter in Baltimore County, Maryland.2 On 4 November 1737, Charles Anderson purchased land known as "Woods Addition" (50 acres) in Baltimore County, Maryland, from Joshua Wood.2 On 8 March 1738, Charles Anderson and Grace Preston sold land to Jacob Bull known as "Land of Promise" (200 acres) in Baltimore County, Maryland.2 He died in 1740 in Baltimore County, Maryland.3

Sarah Poteet was also known as Sarah Preston.1 She was born about 1713.1 She married James Preston on 15 May 1733 in St. George's Parish, Baltimore, Maryland.1,2,3,4,5 She died before 31 March 1749.1
